Pucker Up With The Top 5 Summer Lip Products

Hello Beauties!

School's out and summer is here so today we're talking all about the most wearable, fun and fresh lip products. These are perfectly wearable during the toasty months and are fabulous, while still being easy on the wallet.

Here's a round-up of products to achieve the perfect pout this summer:

1. L'Oreal The Balm in Caring Coral
This ultra-hydrating balm smells like cotton candy, applies silky smooth and leaves a beautiful light coral tint to the lips. True to its name, The Balm feels and looks like a glossy lip balm without ever being sticky or tacky. (This is my absolute favorite product right now!)

2. Maybelline Color Whisper in Pinup Peach
A moisturizing little lipstick/balm, the Color Whisper offers much more color pay off than the L'Oreal The Balm but is also less glossy. However, if you want the color of a lipstick with the moisturizing effect of a lip balm, this is the ticket!

3. L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in Sunset Angora
Peachy keen I'd say! (You may sense a peach-colored theme at this point, but in my eyes it is the color of the summer and pairs well on everyone.) I am smitten with these lipsticks and this color in particular, a gorgeous peach shade. The color pay off is fantastic and beautifully opaque (that of a lipstick) but also has a moisturizing consistency, which in turn creates a slight glossy sheen to the lips. (Best lipstick!)

4. The new Covergirl LipPerfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in 235 Coral Twist
Now I have to admit, this is not what I would consider a coral color. It is more of a highly pigmented bright pink and isn't as glossy as I was expecting, it is more of a slight sheen. If you love bright colors check out this line, I personally dab the color onto my lips and rub it in for a more natural lip while still getting a fairly bright color.

5. Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti
The lip butters that arguably started all of the latest chapstick/lipstick combo craze, the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters. Hands down I love these lip butters. They are pigmented, glossy, moisturizing and are still very wearable because they allow some of your natural lip color shine through. The only downfall is that they are very soft, so they melt and break easily in warmer weather (part of mine broke off trying to make a swatch.) I personally love the bright color trend which includes orange, however sometimes I find it difficult to wear on a daily basis. When dabbed on the lips, this color provides a fun pop of orange while still staying semi-sheer. It follows the trend without so much commitment! :)

Ta-da! That is it for my round-up of my favorite products for a fabulous pout this summer! What are your favorite lip products currently?

MANICure Monday: Rose Gold

Hello my little beauties!

Happy MANICure Mondays (see what I did there?) this is a new series I'm starting that will be short and sweet on the editorial front. Each Monday, I will post the current manicure I'm wearing and the polish I used to create it. It really will be that simple; Something quick and easy to take in. So here we go :)

Today I'm wearing (and loving!) this rose gold polish from Orly called Rage. It's absolutely gorgeous, applies like a dream and is opaque in one coat...what more could I ask for?! The color achieves a rosé gold color using a ton of little sparkles which in turn, gives a bit of a chrome effect.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette Review and Swatches

Hi my Beauties!

I have a new beauty obsession and it is *drumroll please* the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette! (Just in case you couldn't tell from the title) I have been eyeing the larger UD Naked Palettes for awhile but held off due to the steep price tag, $50 ouch.

This little beauty was launched earlier this year and immediately piqued my interest. Not only is it about half the cost, $27 at Sephora, but it features easily wearable shades. The other Naked Palettes have twice the shadows but let's face it, when I have a palette with any more than six colors I get overwhelmed and only use half of them.

The Naked Basics Palette consists of mostly of matte shades, differing from the original Naked Palette and Naked 2 which consists mostly of shimmery shades.

I am absolutely enamored with this palette, I use it every day and it creates the most beautiful natural eye looks with ease. The shadows are so creamy and highly pigmented that a little goes a long way and they all blend easily. Venus is a beautiful light satin color (gives a slight shimmer), perfect for highlighting the inner corner and brow bone. I like mixing Foxy and Walk of Shame for my lid color then working Naked 2 into the crease and darkening the outer corner with Faint. Using a thin pencil brush with the dark coffee color, Crave is amazing along the lash line instead of eyeliner for a natural smokier look.

I did a full eye make tutorial using this palette. Check it out here.

Shades (L-R): Venus, Foxy, Walk of Shame, Naked 2, Faint, Crave.
